Overview
The Mark Membership™ ("we", "us") is a private membership platform for working actors. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to themarkmembership.com and any associated apps or services.
Information We Collect
- Account details: name, email address, and login credentials you provide.
- Profile & preferences: coach assignment, tier, notification settings.
- Content you submit: tapes, transcripts, and questions you send to coaches or to The Voice.
- Usage data: pages viewed, actions taken, device and browser information, and IP address, used to keep the service secure and improve it.
- Payment information: processed by our payments partner. We do not store full card numbers.
How We Use Information
- To provide and maintain your membership.
- To review self-tapes and deliver coaching feedback.
- To respond to support requests and communicate about your account.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, database, email, payments, analytics). These providers are bound by contract to use your information only to provide services to us.
Camera, Microphone & Photos
Reader calls and self-tape uploads use your camera and microphone, and only while you are on a call or recording a take. We ask before the first use, and you can revoke access in your device settings at any time. Reader call recordings capture the auditioning member's video and both voices; they are stored privately in the thread they were made in and are visible only to the two members in that thread. We never access your camera, microphone, photo library, contacts, or location in the background.
Data Retention & Deletion
Find a Reader recordings that you do not save to My Library are deleted after 30 days. Recordings you intentionally save remain in My Library until you remove them or delete your account. We keep your other information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings, which removes your profile, tapes, messages, and reader call recordings, or email support@themarkmembership.com and we will complete the deletion for you. We keep only records we are legally required to retain, such as purchase receipts.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us at support@themarkmembership.com to exercise these rights.
Children
The Mark Membership™ is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and row-level security on our database. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app.
